Today is Mardi Gras, the day of all days. One of the few days of the year when you can eat and party all day and have an excuse. This also works for New Year's Eve, Christmas, and your birthday if it's on a weekend. And if you're lucky enough to have Mardi Gras parades near you, go to them. They are so much fun! If the only one that is near you is the ten minute parade that passes your house, then at least you have one. Us in the North don't get anything. If you're near New Orleans, GO to Mardi Gras THERE! It will be one of the funnest parties you've ever been to. The whole town is one big party. If you, like my friend, can go to Mardi Gras in Venice, then I will forever hold a grudge against you because the closest I've come to international is Canada. But I heard that is fun to go to as well.
Mardi Gras is the day where you eat a big feast, get fat, and fall asleep drunk. I should know because I did a big newspaper article on it in my elementary school paper. But the day after Mardi Gras is the anti-party. Ash Wednesday is when your parents come home after your party and make you clean up and do extra chores as your punishment. It is the hangover treatment of all parties. The part when you sober up and realize you have work to do. Ash Wednesday is the start of Lent.
On Ash Wednesday, you must finally decide what it is that you want to give up. On Lent, a person gives up something that is of great importance to them for 40 days and 40 nights in symbolism to Jesus fasting in the desert with no food or drink for 40 days and 40 nights. But something that is reasonable, so you cannot give up homework or school, or if you're an adult, work. Say you're always on the computer, then it might be beneficial to give up the computer for Lent. Or say you're a choco-holic. You could give up chocolate. One year, I gave up computer, I realized it wasn't that hard. Last year I gave up chocolate, a lot harder than computer.
This year, I think I'm giving up junk food altogether. Yes, this so extremely hard, that I will need your help. First, if you are doing Lent, leave a comment, telling me what it is. If you're not doing Lent, it's ok, everyone has their own religion. 1st Amendment. Then, I am going to be held accountable to everyone reading this. If you happen to get the idea that I am breaking this junk food fast, please remind me of what it is I am doing.
The end of Lent, is Easter. On that day, you can binge, have fun, and play on the computer as much as you want. Lent will be over. Until then, good luck!

Dance til you Drop!
Just got home from my friend Mckenzie's house. We were "working really hard" on a project for Social Studies while watching Eclipse. It was fun. But anyway, that's so not what I'm talking about. Not about the fact that I strongly dislike my unfair teachers who choose sides and are strongly one-minded. Or about the fact that my musical is 1/2 choreographed, missing all of its scenery and props and performances are one March 5 and 6. That fact that my costume was given to me with giant yellow sweat stains under the armpits (oh yeah, these costumes have been pre-used). Or the fact that Fine Arts Night is swiftly approaching and me and my friend still can't play our performance song worth squat.
But, no, that's not what I'm going to talk about. I'm going to talk about the one thing in middle school that for two hours, makes the whole thing worth while.
School dances.
School dances, I'm afraid, have been underutilized a lot lately. Yes, that was a large word, my brain is still buzzing for even thinking of it. We all love dances, well, the ones of us with school pep. Not school pep, more like, any kind of pep, we really don't give a hoot about our school. We are pretty much duds at everything anyway, except maybe a couple sports. We're even on the school watch list at academics. Smooth right? Well it seems our school's about to be hit with a lot o' smooth criminals because we are having our second, count 'em: T-W-O, dance this year. Finally! We haven't had one since the beginning of the year. We used to have them a lot more often, but our principal has gotten stricter and doesn't really pass much fun anymore.
This dance is put on by the French Club which, lucky me, I am in. I get to work the Kan-Jam game. You see, the French Club's Mardi Gras dance happens to be the most exciting dance of the year. Mostly because my French teacher happens to be the only teacher in the whole school who cares about having fun. My friends Erica and Lexi are working on the Butt Balloon Pop. If you wish for further explanation, here it is: You pay like a dollar or something like that to pick a balloon. You then sit on this balloon and bounce around on it until you pop it. If you're a lucky duck and you pick the right balloon. There will be a piece of paper in the rubber rubble. (say that 10x fast) The paper will say like one free soda or something like that, and you win! Yay! Totally random, yet totally fun.
The best part is, I only have to work for 20 minutes out of the 2 hrs. So I'll have a lot of time to dance my booty off. It will be so much fun. I can't wait for Friday to come. I'm anxiously awaiting the King cake cupcakes, the balloon butt pop, and the awesome music! We''l have a fun DJ, we've had him before and he was pretty awesome.
Hope this song will be played:
(yes the actual dialogue is in a foreign language, it's the only one I could find. At least the song sounds the same)
Or the Glee version (I have a feeling I'm getting addicted to uploading youtube songs. )

Post Numéro un
This is my first post. Does this mean I'm an official new blogger? If it does, YAY! Everybody, let's break out the sparkling grape soda and the juiceboxes because I'm going to celebrate! Now you might be saying, what is this girl doing, well ladies and gentleman, I'm breaking the ice.
My name is Louisa B. I'm a spunky girl who does well in school, takes French and tries to make everthing sound positive. I said spunky because I recently heard that word and now it is stuck in my mind. It sounded fun. I'm from the mighty state of Wisconsin, yes, I'm a proud Cheesehead. Please don't say anything about the Packer's recent stumble. :( I am from Wisconsin, but right now I'm residing in the state of New York. That's because my dad's in the army, so we're currently stationed at Ft. Drum.
I'm a big movie person. I love movies so much, I even wish to become an actress when I grow up. To start, I am in my school's production of Fiddler on the Roof. Fun right? I play Yente, the old matchmaker. I have a lot of funny lines :). But anyways, I'm so off topic, if you catch random movie quotes in my blogs, please comment about it. It'll be kind of a game.
Now that I introduced myself to the zero followers I have. ;) Let me tell you what I'm going to be doing on this blog, well frankly, a lot. I post D.I.Y.s, which is one of my favorite things to do, and I'll tell you about the wacky things that happen with me and my Chaos Family. Some of you may even follow my mom at The Chaos Mommy. If you don't you totally should, she's even better at this blogging thing than I am! Hehe. Small joke.
Well I've kind of got to get going now. I'm sure looking forward to this blog, I hope you are looking forward to it too.
